Hey Reader,

Wow... Brain fog is real.

Lately, my attention to detail and I haven’t exactly been on the same page. In fact, I’m pretty sure it packed up and left the bookstore entirely.

Brain fog is one of the most common—and my most frustrating—symptoms of both perimenopause and burnout. It can feel like your brain is jumping from one unfinished task to the next, spinning its wheels while you race through your day without really getting anywhere.

And the tricky thing about brain fog? It tends to feed on itself. The more scattered you feel, the harder it is to focus, and the more you end up overwhelmed and stuck in a cycle that can pull you under.

So, what can you do about it?

If you're hoping for a quick fix or a magic pill, I wish I could offer that. But here’s the truth: if your brain fog is tied to estrogen shifts, hormone therapy might not be the answer. And if it’s rooted in burnout, there’s no prescription for that either.

What does help? First, recognizing what’s going on. Then, taking some intentional steps to interrupt the cycle.

Last week, I gifted myself a solo birthday retreat at the Nordic spa. It was divine. Just me, quiet, and space to reflect—part of my plan to return to self-care and recalibrate. It was a beautiful reset. But even that didn’t magically rewire my brain.

So now, I’m leaning into structure: more task tracking, built-in time for reflection, and a whole lot of focus on what truly matters. And yet… I still missed my own deadline for this update. (Which is why it's landing in your inbox a week later than planned.)

Here’s the thing: as much as I want to be a steady source of tools, insights, and support to help you navigate this messy, meaningful season of life, I’m still in it too. I still get it wrong sometimes.

That’s where self-compassion comes in. It’s not just a soft skill—it’s a strategy. A real, practical way to meet burnout, brain fog, and menopause with grace instead of guilt. It helps us recover faster, get back in the game, and remember we’re human.

We’re all doing the best we can. And that’s more than enough.

🤖AI Prompts

I'm still trying to figure this AI thing out but it is becoming a valuable thought partner for me. And it is helping my clients. They're kinda loving it.

Here is how they have used it.

  1. Create a 7 day meal plan following the Mediterranean way of eating. Don't include anything with chickpeas! I hate chickpeas!! make the recipes flavourful and rich in protein.
  2. What are some ideas I can do to clean up my bedtime routine? I'm having trouble falling asleep with a racing mind.
  3. What are some openers to start a conversation with my HR about menopause accommodations or support?
